Biography
The Davis family: Audrey, Brett, Sam, Amy & Will
State Representative Brett Davis is a 1994 graduate of Monroe High School. He went on to earn a B.A. in business administration from UW-Oshkosh in 1999. Along with their daughter Audrey (2) and sons Will (5) and Sam (newborn), Brett and his wife Amy reside in the Town of Oregon in Dane County.
Brett has been actively involved in public service, notably as a former legislative aide to State Rep. Mike Powers (R-Albany) and the chief of staff to State Sen. Joe Leibham (R-Sheboygan). Brett also served in the offices of former Governor and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson. He was an advisor to the Tax & Revenue Policy Team while Thompson was Governor, and he worked on rural health care issues under Thompson when he was Health and Human Services Secretary in the administration of President George W Bush.
Brett also works in the private sector for Hedeman Real Estate Company, a small family-owned real estate business located in Monroe, WI.
Brett is currently the president of the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Board of Directors of Wisconsin Literacy, Inc. He is a member of the Republican Parties of Green, Rock, Lafayette, and Dane Counties, Oregon-Brooklyn Lions Club, the Green County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Riverfront Rock Community Advisory Board, Green County Conservation League, Friends of Cadiz Springs, Monroe Noon Optimists, Monroe Kiwanis, and the Green County Farm Bureau.
Brett was first elected to his current position as 80th District State Representative in 2004 and was re-elected in 2006 and 2008. Brett proudly serves as the ranking Republican member of the Assembly Committee on Education, and as a member of the Financial Institutions, Rural Economic Development, and the Rural Affairs & Renewable Energy committees.
The 80th District includes all of Green County and portions of Rock, Dane and Lafayette Counties.
